Overall works great. However, when I try to play another level or another game of marathon, and an ad happens, it will sometimes crash the game/close the game. It's a little bit annoying if it keeps on happening, and so I have to reload the game like three times and watch ads three times before I get to actually playing.

Ad ridden. For such a simple, classic game, they make it very difficult to play. I literally had an ad just to quit a level. It's hard to want to play this game for consecutive levels. Truly best in offline mode, as something to kill the time like on an airplane because there will be no ads that way. Otherwise, I would not recommend.

As the app has developed over the years, it's developed into a very ad based game. Without paying a few dollars a month, you will receive ads basically any time they can. The big selling part is the Tetris rewards such as free rooms in Vegas. The touch controls have been removed which makes it nearly impossible to play at high speeds. The new level system isn't like anything else (not in a good way). If you haven't played this in a few years or even months, everything has changed for the worse.

The ads were a bit much at first, but after spending some time with the game they hardly feel like they're interrupting the experience any more. Having the option between the classic Tetris experience (Marathon) and the goal-based levels is a convenient and unexpected bonus. My sole complaint is the inability to play while connected to public Wi-Fi, forcing me to use data if I want to play on a break at work or when I'm out and have some time to kill, which are the times I most want to play.

I only have 2 real issues with the game over all. 1 is that the sensitivity control. I mess up shots no matter what level of the control I have it on. very frustrating. I would like it to be able to be less sensitive to finger touch. I've double tapped a piece to change it and it zoom down to the bottom for some reason. and 2 is it crashes in my android device after a few games.

This is probably one of the most frustrating versions of Tetris I've played. Tetris is always a fun game, but the fact there are ads almost every other level completion kills the fun. Also, the game will crash after some of the playable ads, which means I have to load the game back up and sit through more ads. Un-installed and will not reinstall.

I really like this game. I haven't experienced crashes like other players describe. I paid the $3 for a month of no ADs, and I would say it's worth it, but then I ran out of levels in about a week. That's the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars. Maybe allow players to re-play levels? Or have them programmatically generated? It's frustrating to pay for something that I have no use for now (unless I play the marathon mode which isn't why I paid the "no ads" fee).

It's tetras so it's good. But the ADS are so frustrating. An ad after every level whether or not you complete the goal? Even worse, if you don't make the goal, it gives an option to "use coins" for 10 more moves or "watch an ad" for 10 more moves. But if you choose neither...? Guess what, you get an ad. And some of the ads automatically take you to the play store to download another game. I almost want to delete because of the ads.

Love(d) to play Marathon Mode and sometimes Quickplay. I'm not into the levels as much, and by itself, the game is fun, and the themes are kinda cool and give you some motivation to play. However, I have been completely unable to play Marathon for MONTHS because the app crashes after the ad every single time I try to start a game. I have tried re-installing, clearing the cache, force stopping the app, and nothing works. This is why I'm giving it 1 star. Fix it and I'd give it a 4 out of 5.

The game is great. It was and still is a good part in my childhood. BUT I have a MASSIVE problem with the set moves. It gets extremely annoying very fast. Whenever I have one turn left, my next piece is the piece I need to complete the level and clear the last line. But uh oh! You're out of moves! Here, watch an add brokie. Please either remove the limited turns or bump up the turns to something higher.

It's good for what it is. I like the level play, and marathon is always fun However, it's littered with ads. You get one every time you click a button, it's so annoying. Would also like more .odes other than just level and marathon. For example, sadistic mode, where there isn't any line blocks, or cascade, where the bloks fall after a line I'd complete.

Great game, but the ads are annoying... And I ran out of levels to play. Yes, they run out! There's now a button saying "More coming soon!" It's been a few weeks. I enjoy the quick levels because I don't always have time to play a marathon level, etc. Remove the ads (or make it more worthwhile than paying $3 a MONTH ((?!?!))), and bring more levels!

Don't bother. They completely change and *RESET* the app every couple of years and they do not care that they are resetting all of their players' progress. This is the second time this has happened. Now it just has a worse interface that forces you to watch an ad every level. Lost all my unlocks, levels, and badges. No multiplayer. A million ads. Absolute worst experience with a developer that I've ever had. *EDIT* I do not want an apology. I want my themes and high scores back.

Many, many ads. I wouldn't normally mind so much but they're often on the screen flashing and very distracting. Tetris Royal just won't work for me, I just get an error code. The only redeeming feature of this app is the touch controls. The second I find another app with touch controls this app will be trashed.

Very buggy, sound stops working after playing an ad (which happens after every ~30 second level) and only comes back if you close and restart the app. The ads cause the app to crash regularly as well. Gameplay-wise, rotating the blocks is very annoying because if you tap too slowly, it will just cycle between 2 random rotations, but to cycle through all possible rotations requires you to tap so fast, that you often skip past the one you want.

I had this game loaded on another device, and it died. Reloaded, and I lost all the different games. Blitz and teams. It is very disappointing at this point. Update. 8-2-23 Again, they have changed the app and removed more features. Now, the only option left is Marathon. It took me a moment to figure out that it was still available. At one point, there were 4 or 5 different game play modes with team comps. Now, it is a basic tetris game with a lot of ads

Talk about coasting on a name... There were so many ads, it took me at least 3 minutes before I even got any play. The bright fun colors you expect with tetris are no longer there. It looks like a cheap knock off now with a stupid background and everything. There is also is no more dropping when you create a line, meaning no more cascade type clearing. I would rather play a "knock off" version. There are plenty that put more effort into their games than this "original".

Classic (marathon) mode is nice. The levels don't get more challenging. Same amount of moves given for each level, same total points, same total clears, and same falling speed. The only thing that changes is the starting point, which is just a copy of previous ones you've done where you need to get a total amount of points or lines cleared. Levels are not challenging at all and kind of pointless in my opinion.

Worst version of Tetris I have ever played. The game constantly barages you with ads, microtransactions, and Facebook integration. The controls are terrible; it is a swipe and tap system, which is incredibly buggy. It will read one input as another or read nothing at all, because some actions rely on a DELAY to determine whether an swipe should do one thing or another. The controls rely on you playing at a snails pace for them to not bug out.

I would love to give this game a 5 star. Bc it brings back childhood memories. But the fact you can only get rid of the ads for 30 days at a time is the biggest rip off over. For that it's getting a 1 star. Anymore all games are so stupid to play bc of all the stupid ads. Well if u want to achieve this goals than get rid of ads all together. U make plenty off in app purchases.

Difficulty does not increase. For some reason level 75 was super hard, and I thought it was going to be increasingly difficult and more fun after that. I am past level 190 and it actually got way easier then never changed. Nothing is as hard as level 75 was and it has become repetitive. There is nothing to motivate me to continue. I play this game and just feel depressed and empty. More pointless features: the star meter at the end and the bubble animations. Also no sounds off button

The amount of ads is absolutely horrible, especially when you consider that once you reach the goal of each level, the game stops, so it isn't like you can just play indefinitely. Whoever thought of this must really hate Tetris players. I cleared the first stage in under 30 seconds and then get slapped with an ad. Absolutely no way would I tolerate this. I'll stick to Tetris on my NES you greedy goons.

I am not against having ads in aps. I have played games directly because of ads. And I am not against paying $5 to buy the ap and remove all the ads. This game puts an add literally after anything you do. Play a level for about a minute, watch a 30 second ad. That's TOO MUCH! Ok, so you want to remove the ads. They want $3 PER MONTH. I like the app, but can't keep it. I HATE greedy companies.

Very good adaptation of the classic game. While you can still play classic Tetris, the level mode is less panic inducing as there's no speeding up. Ads are frequent (and mostly for inferior games) but don't become disruptive or jarring. I picked up the controls quickly but it's hard to slide blocks into precise locations because the blocks set in too quickly compared to console versions of the game. Still, this IS Tetris. Much more fun than the multiple match 3 games that came from it.

The quality of the app is good so that's why it'd 2 stars and not 1, but too many ads, you can't hold pieces like you can in original tetris, there are "levels" which if the game causes you to screw up because of the awful controls, you'll be forced to watch ads regardless of if you tried to revive or not. Terrible, infuriating experience. Why can't these greedy people just leave the classics alone?? Don't "fix" it if it aint broke!

Used to be fun and engaging with events and in-game rewards, now the only reason to play is for real world rewards. If you don't care about the brands, there's no point in playing. The whole app feels like an ad on top of the already excessive ads. The levels don't feel like tetris. It feels like they're just slowly taking all the original appeal of tetris from the app.

Ight. This is Tetris as it should be at a fundamental level. So long as you just play the marathon. However if you want to play it like classic Tetris with no holding or drop down there isn't an option for that. If you dislike the art style like I do, there's no option to change that. If you think that the ads are intrusive like I do. Suck it up kid Tetris doesn't want you to enjoy it. The older version of the app where better. Less like candy crush.

Poor Quality, the game consistently crashes after ads that it forces upon the player. Ads are fine but the crashing afterwards is immensely annoying, ive lost high scores and get to the point where I don't want to play anymore. If they fix the crashing bugs and fix some other quality of life things. I'd rate it higher, but till then.

Its okay. Yes it is littered with ads, the worst part to me is that even "buying" the game isn't really buying it, you uave to pay for it once a month PLUS, when you run out of moves you have to either pay with in game coins you barely get, watch an ad, or BUY in game coins to just just 10 extra moves. It's frustrating because I just want to play regular tetris. Not this money grabbing game, unfortunately as fun as it is, I'm Uninstalling the game.

So, this game is basically only worthwhile for marathon mode. There's too many ads. Also, i keep earning coins, but there's literally nothing to spend the in game currency on? Constantly get pop ups to spend money to get more coins though. Also, the Battle Royale mode advertised on the Tetris website doesn't exist, along with multiple other features like "teams mode". Basically, Tetris is great! This app is not.

Update 8/17/24 Zero stars... it wants me to buy into a game that i have no desire to. Ive put up with your ads every 3 minute match so no way. It's not worth with Spyware. Deleting the app. For the prior review: you have to watch 30-60 seconds of commercials. Very very annoying. I know yall need to make money but have about had it. I don't want other games to play. I like the one in playing and I will uninstall of I get really tired of it. And I still have my original Gameboy with Tetris.

Controls are imprecise. Even on the highest sensitivity, you're still required to use a lot of screen real estate to get a block from one end to the other. Whoever was testing these settings needs to be excommunicated for being a tetris casual (joke). No multi-player, which is strange considering every other version of tetris besides the mobile ones have. Facebook tetris, tetris on the switch, etc. Downright bizarre UI and a menu that is offering cruise ship trips? God will punish you.

Can be fun but marathon mode has its limit before it is literally impossible (around 150,000 points). Clearly the high scores of 1 million+ cheat. Also, there is zero reason to start marathon mode at a higher level. I constantly score 120,000 when I start at level 1 but only around 70,000 when I start at level 5. The game doesn't score correctly at higher levels

Can't play without add blocker. Didn't realize this until trying to play not on wifi. You start a game, and watch the ad, the the game crashes when you close the in game ad horrible. *edit (from 1 to 3 stars) the game started to work. But let's see if it happens again.

They ruined it??? It was so much cooler before, and whatever this update is I just came back to removed everything cool it used to have, like speed controls, themes, or Other Gamemodes, and all the cool space themeing it used to have, and turned it into the most generic mobile game I've ever seen. Might as well change your name to "Block Puzzle" like the others... AND THE ADS..... Why do you need so many ads??? You're one of the biggest video games ever created??? There's an ad for every button.

Instead of being allowed to play until you've eliminated all but one or two lines, it stops and goes onto another level. Then there's all these stupid things one has to click on before one can advance to the next level. For instance, Awesome and Click on this and that to say how good you are. Who cares? It's just annoying. I just want to keep playing

It's a pretty good game, I like the levels as they give you something to work towards. I wish there wasn't as many ads, it can break you out of the immersion. It can sometimes make me exit out of the app or stop playing the in-game music. I think some good recommendations for the game could be maybe working towards being able to pick different tetris music! The tune is a classic but if they put out different songs as a reward it'd be more fun.

This is not classic Tetris. There is a version it includes that is pretty close (called marathon) but I cannot find a game whose whole purpose is to just be classic Tetris. My main issue with this game is that there is an INSANE amount of loading between every game. There's around a full minute of loading just to open the app, then another once you press start, then it makes you watch an ad, and then another full minute once you exit the ad to start the level. (It's not a problem with my phone.)

False advertising and weak interface. First I search for ads free games and this game came up. I was watching my first ad before getting into my first game. Next, the game is tetris, but there is no d-pad system. You use the whole screen to turn, move and speed down the pieces.... yeah it became frustrating. Not challenging, but frustrating. I like Tetris, but I recommend you find a cheaper alternative. Maybe another studio added the d-pad.

The ads are pretty horrendous in a way that feels much more than is needed, but I kept it because it was fun to play sometimes. Now all of a sudden I can't even play because there's a message saying "more coming soon" instead of the normal game start icon. If I don't have the option to play again in a few days I'm just going to delete it. Update: the option to play "adventure mode" came only for 3 days. I still can't play adventure mode at all with only a message saying "more coming soon"
